Finding great concert videos shouldn't be this hard.

I've been chasing great sound since the '90s, when I walked into a local audio shop and heard a properly set up stereo system for the first time. That moment hooked me. When home theater went multichannel, I saw it as an extension of that same pursuit—the quest for an experience that makes you feel the performance.
Over the years, I've built my system piece by piece, hunting for deals on eBay, balancing the tradeoffs between great stereo and great surround. It's entry-level by audiophile standards—Paradigm Reference speakers, a solid 5-channel amp, a legendary Oppo player—but it's mine, and I've optimized the hell out of it.
The problem? Finding content worthy of the system.
When I'm considering a concert Blu-ray, I need to know: Is the audio mix any good? Is the video quality decent for the format? Did the artist actually show up that night, or phone it in? And is it worth $25, or should I wait for a deal?
To answer these questions, I'm scouring forums, digging through Reddit threads, asking AI chatbots, cross-referencing Amazon reviews—and still coming away uncertain. The reviews are too subjective. "Amazing!!" doesn't tell me if the 5.1 mix is reference quality or a muddy afterthought.
So I built what I wished existed.
Live Concert Ratings uses a standardized scoring system that separates the technical (audio format, video quality) from the artistic (did the band deliver?). No more guessing. No more disappointment when that $30 disc arrives and the mix is garbage.
Whether you're watching Alice in Chains' MTV Unplugged on DVD, Nine Inch Nails' Beside You in Time on Blu-ray, or the Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense in 4K—you deserve to know what you're getting before you buy.
